Meet Dr. Rebecca Small

Dr. Rebecca Small is a graduate of Harvard Medical School and Cambridge University, England. She is an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of California San Francisco School of Medicine (UCSF) where she co-developed the outpatient aesthetic curriculum used to train Plastic Surgery and Family Medicine residents. Dr. Small’s unique ability to adapt her didactic instruction, demonstration, and hands-on precepting to meet each learner at their individual level has consistently earned her outstanding evaluations.

Dr. Small’s Practical Guide textbook series covering botulinum toxins, dermal fillers, lasers, and medical skincare has been translated into 6 languages. These textbooks consistently achieve "#1 Best Seller" in Amazon's Plastic Surgery, Dermatology, and Laser Medicine categories; garnering more than 700 5-star reviews.

In addition to precepting, lecturing, and writing, Dr. Small is the Medical Director at her private practice, RSMD Medical Aesthetics, in Northern California where she performs non-surgical aesthetic procedures and oversees her clinic. She has established herself as a leading authority on combining aesthetics procedures and liquid lifts that achieve a natural pattern facial aging.

Dr. Small brings a unique dual perspective to medical aesthetics training from her 15 years of academic work combined with clinical expertise. Her practical approach to medical education debunks the adage, 'those who can't do, teach." Dr. Small’s methodology is not just theoretical; it's a reflection of what works in real clinical settings, developed by a teacher who actively practices and innovates in her field.
